Where Did The Virgin Murderer Get His Worldview?

Elliot Rodger

Peter Rodger had nothing to give his son except vast sums of money: A $40,000 BMW, first class tickets to a private Katy Perry concert. No God and no moral code above the vapid coexist bumper sticker ideology. His anti-Christian documentary Oh, My God reveals his empty philosophy. According to MovieGuide it has a “very strong humanist, anti-religious, and anti-Christian worldview overall, with a very strong politically correct view with light Communist overtone promoting multiculturalism…”

Wealth is a wonderful thing, it can buy a good education and even buy leisure to spend time with family. But money is not substitute for spiritual and moral education of children.

And by the way, who gave this deranged young man the idea that being a virgin at age 22 is a source of shame? Could it be the Hollywood in which his father and stepmother lived and moved and had their being? Certainly he saw nor heard anything at a Kay Perry concert which would do the slightest thing to disavow him of the notion that sexual attractiveness is the source of status and meaning.

Well What we have here is a SPOILED rich kid who had everything except SEX handed to him on a silver platter. Wonder if this nut case would have been better off if rich daddy had hired a couple female escorts with bonuses to care for his needs. Maybe the others he took his frustration out on would be alive today.RICH DADDY needs to think about his FAILURE as a PARENT.

    • wisdumb

I don’t think a one night stand would cure his problems. Be responsible, get married, have kids.contribute to the world to be satisfied.

  • icemancold

This COMMENT is to the PARENTS of those who lost their lives. You need to place blame where it belongs. That is on The KILLER who was depressed because he could not get LAID,The THERAPISTS who treated him,His PARENTS for handing him everything except SEX on a silver platter. DO NOT BLAME THE TOOLS HE USED TO KILL WITH because they were inanimate objects until he had them in his hands.!!

  • craig

I think the fact this kid lived in California..had a Hollywood dad and the philosophy that is normal Hollywood types …being Democrat (which is the normal political affiliation with most mass murders today)..he was predisposed to that type of real surprise that his lifestyle predicted this future outcome.

  • Impala58

No excuse, but let’s not forget that he may have been frustrated with his sexual orientation (gay).

The story is indeed a very sad story for all involved and I have compassion not only for the victims, but also for the kid who caused such a tragedy. My heart goes out to the parents and family of those who were innocently sacrificed at the hands of a mentally disturbed kid the product of a decadent self-absorbed society. Yes, in this case, the perpetrator is also a victim and if anyone is to share the blame it is the parents. Raised in the middle of Godless Hollywood, bored by all the material possessions surrounding him, they boy was incredibly unhappy. He didn’t have what every human being needs, and that is LOVE! He was probably deprived of a loving family, who tried to substitute parental love with material things. In his confused and lonely existence, lacking the spiritual connection with his Maker, that he should have received from his parents, the kid exploded! Lack of sex was never the issue, it was lack of LOVE! I urge every parent in our entire nation, to pause and look at the culture we have created and then carefully examine themselves. It is time to come to terms with the tragic life most of us live and hopefully come to the conclusion that ultimately we are the culprit.. We created our culture, we fed our materialistic society and we contributed, purposely or not, to the corruption of our children. Please the time to start is NOW! God Bless us all!

I think too many parents today are both working to live the good life and have little time OR energy left for their children. The children are raising themselves and the kids are recipients of material things to assuage the parents’ guilt. Kids have no moral compass. I think there are a whole lot of parents out there who just as guilty as the Rodgers. Some get lucky and their kids don’t commit mass murder. Other kids never find their way and are still living off Mom and Dad when they are 50. Parents have forgotten that their job is to raise responsible, independent, decent human beings, so that when they are gone, their children can function very well without them. Too many parents don’t want to be teachers and guidance counselors; they want to be pals. Maybe we should require training and that people pass a test before they can become parents – just as we require training and a test to drive a vehicle. If you aren’t ready, willing, and able to put your offspring first in your life – with your time and love, not just your money, don’t have them. You will be doing yourself, your potential offspring, and the world a big favor. Not all people should BE parents; there is no shame in that. But, once you undertake to have a child, you have a moral obligation to raise it properly; if you don’t know how, you need to seek help.

      • NukeWaste

These people don’t agree with you. The kids are theirs, not yours. If they don’t care that they are not raising their kids right, that is their concern. Seriously, you can’t save the world. It doesn’t want your help. It doesn’t need your help. It won’t accept it either. Putting a level of government would only turn out more of these problems.

        • Antogeny

Thank GOD those kids aren’t mine! And, I am so off to government these days, I would NOT put another layer of government in place for anything! Still, the world would BE better off if everyone gave more thought to what they were doing and took more responsibility for themselves. I know that stupid people walk among us and will not be changed. But, if only some would be more responsible, it would be a good thing.

  • Busdriver Bill

What about the psychotropic drugs he was/wasn’t on? And, of course, his mental condition (which came first)?

The tools of criminal behavior are readily available, no matter the laws. He’d have killed without guns and knives, were they out of reach. The lack of any moral compass made this sicko a time-bomb.

Were our state not so anti-gun, somebody would have put a round or two through his engine block early on.

  • David Taylor

I watched the kid’s video, and I’m going to step in it. Here’s this spoiled rich kid, sitting in a car that the vast majority of us will never be able to own, who purchased high-end guns that most gun enthusiasts couldn’t justify buying at the speed this kid did, in a place so liberal it makes San Francisco look Tea-Partyish, in a state run exclusively
by Liberals and out-right Socialists (Mercedes Benz Marxists) who shoots a bunch of other rich liberal kids, and these fat-cat demi-gods of American Leftist culture look around and don’t see what just happened. Liberalism is death. Your culture is death. Your children are being taught and trained to live and act out death. This article here talks about the lack of God in this world view, yet they do have a theology. The scions of Santa Barbara believe, fundamentally, in what Jim Jones preached to his worshipful minions in his Temple in San Francisco, just without all that disgusting God stuff. A hostility toward Western Civilization, a hatred of Capitalism when it doesn’t make them personally a profit, spreading the wealth as long as it isn’t theirs, a sneering contempt for those who do hold on to Christianity, (most other religions get a nod of respect or are just ignored) Well, folks, you’ve preached it, you love it, your children live it. This kid was a product of your culture, just a Brown Shirt of your theology that picked targets that you, at this moment, aren’t happy with. Welcome to Jonestown USA.

He gave his son everything but a moral compass. What stopped him from hiring hookers for him?
