Today, I Have a Very Inspiring Financial Story for You

beach vacation PUBLIC DOMAIN

According to NBC news affiliate, WGRZ in Buffalo, NY, “Felimina Rotundo works six days a week washing clothes at a local laundromat, and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon” even though she is currently 100 years old!

“Rotundo washes clothes and handles dry cleaning at the College Laundry Shoppe on Main Street in Buffalo. She works 11-hour days, 6 days a week, and wouldn’t change a thing about it. She says that she likes being out and working because it ‘gives her something to do’.

“Rotundo said that she hasn’t considered retirement. She says she doesn’t think that ‘old people’ should be sitting idle, and doing nothing, because that is a waste of time. So when would be an acceptable age to retire? According to her– 75 would be a good age to retire, but only if health is an issue.”

What a beautiful person.  No complaining, no dependency, just faithfulness to do her job and be content.

Far too many have missed the value of work and look forward to the day we start what has become more like an end of life vacation.  I think it is good to work as long as we can and when we don’t need to work for income any more, to Re-Purpose the use of our time.

The American idea of retirement needs to be revised through a Biblical perspective. God still uses each of us regardless of our age. God used Moses long past the typical retirement age. God can use any of us up until the day we die.
