Do you plan everything in your life? Or are you someone that doesn’t plan at all, and takes whatever happens as it comes?

There has been a quiet debate raging in the Evangelical Christian world for years. On one side, some argue that followers of Jesus should not plan. They claim that planning reflects a desire to control.  A popular devotional guide warns in multiple daily posts that planning is a lack of faith–not trusting God–and the tone of her message greatly discourages it.

On the other side, the argument is that we need to plan and follow through, or risk drifting through life not getting much of significance accomplished. They maintain that lack of planning is wasteful of the resources we have, as we are not intentional about where we are headed. This is viewed as poor stewardship.
